About Cenzion

Where is Cenzion based?

Cenzion began as a freelance website design service based in Western Australia, Australia.  With addition of new clients and larger projects, we've taken on board new coders and designers to keep up with the demand.  Eventually we formed the Cenzion group with personnel based in Australia, USA, Europe and Africa.

Why do you offer domain and hosting packages of other companies if you have your own?

We are primarily a website and graphic design group.  In the past, our clients have come to us with their own hosting packages that have technically limited the services we could offer, especially in the installation and configuration of content management services.  This has often resulted in extra cost and time overheads required to complete projects.  As a value add option, we created our own  domain and hosting packages that are 100% compatible with the services we offer.  Since our main business isn't in the selling of hosting, we've given you the option of choosing a selection of other hosts who we know have at least the minimum required specifications (although we believe our hosting is pretty damn good!).

Will I have to sign a contract?

For domain and hosting projects, no.  For large projects such as website development and business branding we need you to agree on things like payment terms and intellectual property.  Contact us for more information.

Why don't you recommend Flash websites?

We believe websites that are search engine (i.e. Google, Yahoo, Bing) compatible are the way to go if you want your website to rank highly.  For this reason we shy away from full Flash websites, although we're not against the use of flash for advertisements, flash banners and menus to add that extra sparkle.

Do you have my password on file?

When we work on your websites we store the latest client admin passwords in a secure database upon project handover.  After this, the client is free to change their password (and we recommend this is done regularly).

What kind of support do you offer?

We have several layers of support depending on which services you have bought.  Our domain and hosting company has 24/7 support including online chat, phone and email.  Our website and graphic design customers have email, phone, Skype and remote desktop support.

What payment methods do you accept?

The following are the forms of payment we accept based on the service:

Hosting: Paypal, MasterCard, American Express, Discover
All other services: Paypal, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, Bank Transfer (Australia and South Africa)

How do I apply for a job?

We are always looking for world talent to join our team.  Contact us if you'd like to submit your web and/or design portfolio.

Internet and IT Based Questions

What is a web browser?

A computer program that lets you see text, images, video and other information found on web pages on the Internet.  Examples of web browsers are Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari, Google Chrome and Opera.

Which is the best browser to use?

Cenzion recommend browsers that are most up to date and compliant with the latest coding and security standards.  For a list of these browsers click here.

Why do your websites display messages for Internet Explorer 6 users?

We are a part of the initiative by the web community to help keep the Internet a safe and vibrant place to be.  Older web browsers such as Internet Explorer 6 are a decade old and don't have the latest security and web features that we expect from today's web world.  This is why we add code to all of our web products to warn individuals browsing on older browsers of these risks and the appropriate action to take.  There are instances though that you may want this feature removed, and we will happily do so free of charge.

What is the difference between domains, hosting and websites?

Domains, also known as website domain and website address, is like your street address.  Hosts, also known as website host or website server, is like a block of land with attached services like electricity, gas and sewerage connections.  Your website is like a brick house and garden. You can add different features to your house, but you are limited to how large your block of land is and what services are installed.

Your domain and host are two separate things. You you can either buy them from the same or different providers, allowing you to shop around.

Your host is literally a computer, somewhere in the world, that stores your website files on its hard drive.  A domain just tells the Internet where this computer is.  When you upload or edit your page, you are saving this information to the host.

What does "Data Center Location" mean?

The Data Center Location is the physical location of your host.  When signing up for hosting, you choose the location closest to your target user base.  For instance, if you have a fitness business in Canada, it will make sense to choose the data center in the USA.  This simply means your website will work slightly faster for people browsing in Canada compared with if you selected a Data Center in the UK.  The difference in speed is usually small, but you are given the option to optimise.

What is a "Pre-Installed Script"?

When you sign up for hosting, you will have available a variety of tools including eCarts, Website Builders, and Content Management Systems (CMS).  To activate them, you need to install their scripts.  During hosting sign up you have the opportunity to install one of these scripts before you log in for the firs time.  Usually our customers decide not to use this feature and install their scripts later.

nagement System".  CMSes let you manage the content of your website in a more user friendly way.  It takes time installing and configuring CMSes, but the end result is worth it from a user's perceptive.  There are lots of different CMSes out there with different abilities with their own strengths and weaknesses.  We mostly use a CMS called MODx because it is, in our opinion, the most customisable and expandable solution.

What is a coding?

Coding is what we do when we build websites.  Websites are usually made by writing code called HTML and CSS to build pages, add graphics and create links.  Coding can also involve programming that add interactivity and effects to the website.

What is a Flash?

How much does a website cost?

How much does a house or car cost to buy or maintain?  It depends on what kind of house, what type of land you're bulding on, what kind of car specifications you need, etc.

Building websites is much the same and can cost as little as US$200 or beyond US$10,000.  What makes things more confusing is that some companies advertise their prices in package deals but don't make it clear what you get, or most importantly, what you don't get, costing you in ongoing costs.

We price our websites on a per-project basis.  We try to understand exactly the tools you need, and take it from there.  If you're interested in knowing what some websites cost today, all you need to do is a quick Google search!
